When jhd Architects went ‘Over The Edge’ for charity

On Sunday 22 August 2010 we were at Bewl Water with The Hospice in The Weald, the West Kent charity which  provides specialist palliative care advice and clinical support for people with life limiting illness, their family and the bereaved. On that day we were the proud sponsors of ‘Over The Edge’, a white-knuckle experience organised by The Hospice and delivered by Sheer Adventures. In exchange for a £50 donation, abseilers who took up the challenge were lifted 200ft in the air in a crate from a mobile crane. At the top they got fantastic views across Bewl Water and beyond. They then ‘stepped over the edge’ to freefall abseil to the ground. This was the first event of its kind in the South East and, in addition to tickets sales, our raffle raised over £300 for the Hospice. For more information see  The Hospice In The Weald,  Bewl Water How To Get There and Sheer Adventure
